John Bramlette grew up in New York City and went to Riverdale Country School. He then attended Haverford College in Pennsylvania, where he worked in the admissions office as a Host and Senior Interviewer. John was an active member of the Haverford community: he participated in the school’s resident mentoring and education program for incoming freshmen, served on two of the school’s joint student-administration leadership panels, and played varsity baseball for four years.
John moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 2002 to attend law school at The George Washington University. John graduated with honors in 2005 and practiced at a firm in downtown Washington until 2008. All the while, John knew that working with young people was his passion. While still in law school, John met Brendan Sullivan, Executive Director of Headfirst. Shortly thereafter, John began coaching and consulting with high school age student-athletes and their families though various Headfirst programs. When Headfirst created its own college advisory program, John was hired as an educational consultant at the outset.
In early 2008, John left his legal practice to join Headfirst full-time as Co-Director of its college consulting team. Since then, John has guided students and their families through the college application process. In 2010, John expanded his practice and founded Bramlette Consulting, LLC, a full-service educational consulting and college counseling company.
Outside of his work with Bramlette Consulting, John also serves on the Board of Directors for SportsChallenge Leadership Academy, a non-profit program aimed providing leadership education and training both on the field and in the classroom to a highly diverse group of college-bound student-athletes.
John currently lives in Washington, DC with his wife Lauren. They were married in May of 2011.
John is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
